On April 23, World Book Day, the opening ceremony of Huzhou Normal University's first Reading Festival was held with great pomp. The "Flower Goddess" Hanfu fashion show, initiated by the Second Party Branch of the International Education College faculty and featuring participation from both Chinese and international students, made a stunning debut, becoming a cultural highlight that transcended national boundaries at the event.

At the beginning of this semester, the Second Teachers 'Party Branch and the Library Teachers' Party Branch collaborated on party-building initiatives, jointly organizing the "Chinese Language Corner" event and planning a series of reading festival activities for international students. The "Hanfu Show," serving as the opening act of the ceremony, underwent six rehearsals, with 12 Chinese and international students dressed in traditional Hanfu costumes appearing on stage as the "Twelve Flower Deities." During the performance, the "Flower Deities" walked slowly out to the sound of classical music, holding floral props such as plum blossoms, peach blossoms, and peonies, making a stunning appearance in traditional attire. The participating international students came from countries including Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Guinea, and performed their dance moves smoothly under the guidance of the Hanfu Club faculty and students. Karina from Kazakhstan remarked, "The moment I put on my Hanfu and danced with my China friends, I deeply felt the beauty of China's traditional culture." Meanwhile, Ashan from Guinea received a special gift from a Hanfu Club member—a prop knife—serving as a testament to their profound friendship cultivated over the past month.

This Hanfu fashion show served as the grand finale of the "Floral Gathering" thematic event under the "Chinese Language Corner" initiative. Prior to the event, a series of interactive activities—including cultural tours, short drama performances, and Hanfu try-on sessions—had attracted active participation from international students on campus. The college will subsequently organize student involvement in library reading festival events. The head of the college's Party General Branch stated that it will continue to strengthen the "Party Building + International Chinese Education" brand initiative, contributing to the cultivation of international talents who understand, appreciate, and love China.
