On April 23, World Book Day, the opening ceremony of the first Reading Festival at Huzhou Normal University was grandly held. The 'Flower Goddess' Hanfu show, initiated by the Second Party Branch of the Faculty of the School of International Education and jointly participated by Chinese and foreign students, made a stunning debut, becoming a cultural highlight that transcended national boundaries at the opening ceremony.

At the beginning of this semester, the Second Teachers’ Party Branch and the Library Teachers’ Party Branch carried out joint Party-building activities, jointly launching a “Chinese Corner” event and organizing international students to participate in a series of Reading Festival activities. The “Hanfu Show” served as the opening performance of the opening ceremony. After six rehearsals, 12 Chinese and international students dressed in Hanfu from various dynasties appeared on stage as the “Flower Goddess of December.” During the performance, the “Flower Goddesses” held props like plum blossoms, peach blossoms, and peonies, walking gracefully to traditional-style music and presenting themselves beautifully in classical poses. The international students participating came from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Guinea, and other countries. Under the guidance of teachers and students from the Hanfu Club, they smoothly completed the dance movements. Karina from Kazakhstan said, “The moment I wore Hanfu and danced with my Chinese friends, I deeply felt the beauty of Chinese traditional culture.” Ashan from Guinea received a special gift from the Hanfu Club members, a prop sword, witnessing the deep friendship they had built over the past month.

This Hanfu show is the closing event of the 'Huazhao Elegant Gathering' themed activity of the 'Chinese Corner'. Previously, a series of interactive events such as cultural explanations, short play performances, and Hanfu try-ons have been held, attracting active participation from international students on campus. Subsequently, the college will also organize students to participate in activities related to the library reading festival. The head of the college's Party General Branch stated that efforts will continue to deepen the 'Party Building and International Chinese Education' brand, contributing to the cultivation of international talents who understand, befriend, and love China.
