Huzhou University launches drug prevention education for international freshmen

On the afternoon of October 29th, Officer Qian from the compulsory isolation and drug rehabilitation center in Huzhou City gave a lecture on drug prevention to more than 100 international freshmen from over 30 countries.

In the lecture, Officer Qian explained from multiple aspects by combining pictures and text. He first sorted out the classification of drugs based on legal definitions, covering traditional drugs, synthetic drugs, and new psychoactive substances disguised as daily food. He also pointed out the risks of drug abuse and used popular language combined with neuroscience diagrams to analyze the mechanism of drug addiction. Subsequently, through drug-related cases and harmful scenarios in the Jiangsu and Zhejiang regions, the legal consequences of drug-related crimes were emphasized, and it was clarified that China's recognition of drug-related crimes does not distinguish nationality. At the same time, Officer Qian analyzed the current anti drug situation based on national and local data in Huzhou, introduced the drug rehabilitation work mode of the city's compulsory isolation and rehabilitation center, and proposed the three no's principle of not accepting food and drinks from strangers, not entering complex entertainment venues, and not making friends with suspected drug-related individuals, guiding new students to deal with acquaintance traps and informing them of the ways to report drug-related behavior.


After the lecture, international freshmen expressed that they had gained a lot and learned self-protection. The head of the international school stated that they will continue to carry out anti drug activities from this starting point, build a multi-party collaborative anti drug education network, and create a safe and healthy growth environment for international freshmen.
